So far my only little dip into theming on my jailbroken iPhone 3GS has been the use of my own wallpaper on home screens – so I’m very interested when I spot interesting or different looking new wallpapers for the iPhone.

There are lots of good sites for finding iPhone wallpapers, and it’s easy to find walls that feature celebs and sports stars, nature, technology themes and so forth.  What’s not so easy to find is wallpapers that are unique, quirky, and downright artistic. 

Unless you pay a visit to the excellent Poolga site.  It is regularly being refreshed with walls done by a great group of “artists, illustrators and dopey street bums” – and you can always find striking and different images there.

I discovered today that they’ve even got an RSS feed, which I just subscribed to.  Check out Poolga.com HERE when you have a moment.

If you like art, and especially iPhone art, you will love the iCreated app – for several reasons.

First and foremost you’ll love it because it shows off some fantastic art created on the iPhone, via a constantly updating gallery – as well as 18 lovely and striking iPhone wallpapers made by one of the app’s creators, David Scott Leibowitz.

While the images on this site aren’t made on the iPhone, they certainly do fit perfectly on one. There are all sorts wallpaper site online, but one thing that I don’t like about a lot of them is how cluttered they look. iDesign has taken a Mac-like approach to their site, so it features a very clean interface with the categories  on the left and all the content on the right (some of which is borderline NSFW, so browse carefully!). There are four ads on the page and some smaller ones that pop out of the thumbnails, but they’re all very small and blend in so perfectly with the site design that it’s hard to tell they’re there. There are nearly 8000 wallpapers on the site as of this moment, so whether it’s  think it’s a safe bet that you’ll find something to put on your unlock screen.
