I spotted this image originally in the wonderful iCreated app and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Just an epic and powerful feeling image. Each time I’ve gone back to admire it in iCreated or on Flickr, it’s struck me the same way.
It’s called ‘The Wooden Sword’ and it’s by Luis Peso.
Here’s a little bit of back story on it from Luis’ Flickr stream:
I wanted to draw a Red Dragon, but, as I had a really fun time playing D&D, I decided make it as correct as possible (the same than a horse has no bunny ears..or do they Benjamin?
))
This is my gift to all those good friends and all those weekends!!![]()
Dragons apart, I didn´t know a wooden sword was that useful!

Por cierto, en español se llamaría "Con un par…"
If I’ve understood it correctly, I think I like the Spanish title best.
Here’s another of Luis’ images that keeps drawing me back to it:
And some background on this one via its Flickr description:
Once I saw a photo of an African sunset. I was sooo amazed by the variety of red tones. I tried to reproduce it…but when I’ll find the original, I’ll do it for you!

I’ve never seen an African sunset, but if they look * anything * close to this artwork, sign me up now please.
As with most of the superb iPhone artists I’ve been discovering, Luis’ Flickr stream contains a large number of great works, covering a broad range of subjects. Check them all out HERE whenever you have a chance.
