One of the things I love about blogging is the genuine sense of community you get when you’ve done it for any decent length of time. That may sound a little cliched, but I’ve found it to be a truism and today has given me great evidence of how real it is.
That evidence was by way of a sort of ‘warm welcome’ contact from Benjamin Rabe, who runs the excellent fingerpainted.it site – which is devoted to covering and celebrating iPhone art just as we are here.
When Benjamin contacted me it got my day off to a great start, as I’d heard all positive things about his site and I took some time today to get to know it better, and I’m a fan. I’m also very much a fan of the iPhone artwork being done by all three of the site’s editors. Those three are:
Susan Murtaugh – whose beautiful image of Holly is shown at the top of this post. I’m a huge dog lover – and the owner of a large oaf of a Lab who is approximately 473 times handsomer than even Holly
– so that one is an instant favorite for me.
Matthew Watkins – I love the colors on this one and feel as if I’ve been in that exact setting
And Benjamin himself – Benjamin Rabe – this one reminded me of long-ago winters in Connecticut, rather than baking hot summers here in Austin.
I’m glad I got to ‘meet’ Benjamin today, and look forward to trading thoughts and ideas with him in future as we both do our best to cover a fascinating area. For any of you who have not yet discovered Benjamin’s site, you really need to go check it out HERE.
Oh, and for those of you keeping score at home, that’s THREE very talented artists over at fingerpainted.it, and ah, well, Thomas and I over here.

Patrick, thank you for such a wonderful blog about us.
And, I think Holly would like to meet your 473 times handsomer Lab!
My pleasure on the post. And yes, any dog would be pleased to meet my big lovely oaf. Here’s a quick look at him:
