Once again, Twitter has proved a great discovery tool for me today. I noticed that our @justiphoneart Twitter account had a new follower this morning, a gentleman called Josh Cassidy. Turns out Josh does some fantastic art, on the iPhone as well as more traditional mediums.
One of his current projects is creating iPhone ‘fingerpaiting’ portraits of people based on their Twitter profile pictures, using the Brushes app – like the one of Jimmy Fallon above, which is now featured at the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon web site.
Josh has also done several videos showing the fingerpaintings in progress – HERE is one of the Jimmy Fallon portrait.
Here’s another Twitter pic portrait fingerpainting, of Shaq:
Josh’s non-iPhone paintings are also amazing, especially for a big sports fan like myself. Here’s just one example – a picture title The Catch, depicting Willie Mays’ play that needs no more description than that:
If you love sports, or rock and roll (another of Josh’s frequent subjects), or just great painting, give Josh’s main site a look HERE. For more of Josh’s iPhone works, go HERE.
