Brushes iPhone app

Brushes – the incredible painting application for the iPhone – has been updated, to Version 2.0.  The big headline new feature is the addition of layers.  Here’s a little more detail on what’s new in this update:

Layers. Brushes now supports up to 4 layers. You can import multiple photos, adjust layer opacity, merge, reorder layers, and copy and paste them between paintings.  Enhanced Brush panel. Toggle between brush mode and erase mode. Adjust paint opacity within the brush panel. Enhanced zooming. Zoom in up to 1600%. Double tap to quickly toggle between 100% and your preferred zoom level. – Stability improvements. Fixes crashes that could occur on iPhone OS 3.0.

Brushes already strikes me as one of the signature applications for the iPhone.  I can only imagine that this 2.0 update, assuming it’s well implemented, will help to maintain and enhance its popularity with so many wonderful iPhone artists.

You can find the latest version of Brushes in the App Store now, priced at $4.99.

The 2.0 update of Brushes! is very well implemented. I had the pleasure of being a beta tester on it, and Steve Sprang is a total professional when it comes to his work. The addition of layers in the painting application is extremely useful, and well done, as the rest of the app is.

Definitely worth the upgrade, or if you haven't used Brushes! before, give it a shot. Totally worth the finsky.
